James McGlinn is CTO and shareholder at Eventfinder.
Previous internet businesses he’s built and sold include Entertainz Web Hosting and Nerds Inc (a web applications development consultancy - now Blink Interactive).
He’s a Zend Certified Engineer (PHP4/PHP5) and founded and now facilitates the New Zealand PHP Users Group, an active network of over 600 developers nationwide. He’s had articles published on web programming and security, and is a regular guest lecturer at tertiary institutes in Auckland.
He’s a member of the PHP Security Consortium (an international group of PHP experts dedicated to promoting secure programming practices within the PHP community), NatColl’s Curriculum Advisory Group and Media Design School’s Industry Panel. He’s also on the PHP documentation team.
James holds bachelor’s degrees in Commerce (Operations Management and Information Systems) and Computer Science from the University of Auckland. You can see his LinkedIn profile here.
Besides web projects he also gets into salsa dancing, snowboarding, rock climbing, and skydiving.
